Winner Named In Kitchen Remodel Competition
Schaefferstown, PA Co-sponsor Plain & Fancy Custom Cabinetry
has announced the winner of the This Old House “Dream Kitchen
Contest” Mike & Heidi Smith of Chicago and the commencement of
the couple’s custom kitchen remodeling project.
This Old House, a major consumer shelter publication with a
circulation of more than 800,000, joined with the Today show to
search America, inviting homeowners to submit their kitchens to be
featured as the next This Old House project. During “Dream Kitchen”
week, from Nov. 11-15, 2002, Today featured six semi-finalists
resulting from the search. Additionally, the crew from This Old
House was on hand to offer expert advice on some of the issues
involved in a kitchen renovation. Viewers voted online on Nov. 14
for their favorite kitchen, and the winners, the Smiths, were
announced Nov. 15 on Today.
The progress of the Smiths’ kitchen transformation will be
covered by both PBS and Today. The project is expected to be
completed by next month.
Product sponsors for the “Dream Kitchen” project include Plain
& Fancy Custom Cabinetry, GE Light Bulbs, KitchenAid, Kohler
Co. and Mohawk. “We’re excited about this opportunity, and we offer
congratulations to the Smiths,” said Vince Achey, v.p./sales and
marketing for Plain & Fancy.
